For Tops many of my Old Navy Cotton tanks fit fine so I stuck with those. I previously owned an Athleta tank with some ruching and some of my longer Lululemon tanks still worked. I did pick up a maternity tank at Old Navy and one at Pea in the Pod.
The whole “Fast Track” line at Athleta is great. It is all ruched so you can wear it before, during and after pregnancy. I have a tank and a t-shirt and still wear both!
Any of their burnout tanks worked great for me, eventually I went a size up for more room.
This ruched tank was great too.
A Pea in the Pod
I got one workout tank here. They usually have a buy 1, get one 50% off or in the sale section buy 2, get one free.
I already had a few Cool Racerback Tanks and continued to wear them. FYI: post pregnancy they snap back into place!
Pants were a bit trickier…not wanting them to be see-through or fall down was apparently a tall order.
Here were a few I tried:
The material is thick, not see-through, they don’t slide down — which is the main issue I’ve found with maternity pants, especially those worn under the belly. I’ve worn them for hiking, walking, yoga, etc. I also think these leggings are nice enough I could definitely get away with wearing them out with “normal” clothes.
Now while these are expensive they are worth EVERY penny. Sadly, I discovered these late into my pregnancy but I wore them daily when I got home from the hospital and I still wear them. Not only are they amazingly comfy on a big pregnant belly they are comfy after and they are AWESOME for your Pilates practice. You don’t have to worry about flashing anything during your roll ups, rolling like a ball, etc. I cannot recommend these pants enough. I just bought a second pair…which was promptly peed on by my 6 month old…
